Here's the plan I'm working from. The layout seems a bit simplistic, but I wanted big curves to show off things like Dash 9's, Pacific's and Mallets. Being ADD, I find my work goes better if there's something going on, so, like the Asylum layout, it's designed to keep itself busy while I'm working.

I plan to build the layout in big flower boxes so I can have a "Garden Railroad" inside, since I don't have any outside. I'm planning on the traditional plywood table, except I'm going to put the plywood under the frame. I'll use plastic to keep the soil and moisture away from the wood, and use blue insulation foam to support the track. There should be space for buildings and figures, which is something I don't have in the asylum.

Lots of lumber arrived.

I built "table tops" out of 2 by 4s and plywood.

A couple horses helped get the table tops on their legs. Everything is screwed and gorilla glued. I used a laser in the back corner to check the height of each corner, and you see a clamp I used to hold the table at the right height so I could glue and screw it. Alas, I have one corner a little low.

The last table is in place. The gap is for walking through. There will be a lift-up bridge there for those who don't want to duck under. The opening is 6ft wide, so most of my friends should have no trouble fitting.

I cut an opening for the "sump" A waterfall will cascade down a hill in the back corner and flow in a stream to here. I have a little "indoor fountain" type pump. Watch the toes!

Freezer tubs are the handiest things! You can make all sorts of things out of them! I think I paid a dollar for this one.

The view from the helicopter. Ok, from the top of the restroom.
